"Pram"
1998
| This is a pram about thirty two inches and it has a story
written on it and the story is broken into numbered fragments. I'm
constantly thinking about the question of boats being Art. By Art I mean
like paintings and sculpture in the truest sense. On the one hand its
easy to say yeah of course its Art, it's something I made, why not, but
on the other hand I've always felt that I wanted to say something more
than just gee look at the pretty boat, I've wanted to say something more
personal, something that's never been said about boats. Once I made an
animated film that was called "I'm a sailboat" The numbered story is about a mistake I made that I had to correct when I was building it. The mast is painted with gold paint. |
